Art galleries, those amazing places that we can often visit for free in this country, offer us history in picture form. Their paintings tell us of war, power, love, murder, scientific endeavour and modern inventions. And so much more that I never tire of visiting them. Many exhibitions today focus on the looming disaster of climate change and over development of green spaces. It is with this in mind that I try to record some of the landscapes and flowers that surround us. They can be seen as pretty paintings but I hope viewers will also consider what climate change and concreting over our wonderful countryside will do to our rural landscape. We all need to act now.
I work in a variety of media but generally use acrylics, inks, watercolour, gouache or charcoal.
