About

When I paint I am sharing a thought or an idea of how I see the world.  I like to investigate the tangle of weeds and wild flowers in the landscape of the countryside around my home in all seasons or the weathered rocks by the sea developed from sketches made whilst on holiday. The flowers in my garden are also an inspiration to me.

My current project about old fashioned children's games began when I found some family photographs of my brother, cousins and myself as children playing games such as Oranges and Lemons and Ring-a-ring-a-roses.

My colour palette and medium changes to suit the subject. I work in acrylics, oils, watercolours, gouache, inks, charcoal and pastels - often mixing them in one painting.

Born in East Sussex, I spent some years in London, then the Middle East and now live in Hampshire. After studying History of Art I fell in love with painting and now exhibit my work in London, Berkshire and Hampshire. My paintings are in collections in the UK, USA and Europe.

I admire the work of Barbara Rae, Joan Eardley, JMW Turner, Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh and Henri Matisse.
